{"id":18345,"date":"2026-08-13T15:05:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T15:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/himalayanlive.in\/?p=18345"},"modified":"2026-08-13T15:05:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T15:05:08","slug":"uttarakhand-builds-indias-second-largest-real-time-power-monitoring-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/himalayanlive.in\/?p=18345","title":{"rendered":"Uttarakhand Builds India\u2019s Second-Largest Real-Time Power Monitoring Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dehradun<span style=\"background-color: transparent; color: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; text-decoration-line: underline;\">: <\/span>Uttarakhand<span style=\"background-color: transparent; color: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: inherit; text-decoration-line: underline;\"> is strengthening its power network by bringing 1,269 feeders under real-time monitoring, making it the country\u2019s second-largest such network after Gujarat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The system will help UPCL quickly detect faults and outages and dispatch teams for faster restoration, especially during monsoons and in difficult hilly terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Under the RDSS, Uttarakhand has approved \u20b91,106 crore for smart metering and \u20b9226 crore for UPCL\u2019s digital transformation, including GIS and real-time data systems.<\/p>\n<p>A \u20b9556.05 crore smart distribution project has also been approved for Rishikesh, covering SCADA, GIS substations and modernisation of power lines.<\/p>\n<p>Power networks in Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh will be monitored through centralised control centres.
