He said coordination between the Centre and participating states has given the decades-old project fresh momentum.<\/p>\n<p>The project will create a 1,562 MCM reservoir and generate 422 MW of electricity, while supporting water security, irrigation, drinking water supply and Yamuna rejuvenation across the Upper Yamuna Basin.<\/p>\n<p>Dhami said rehabilitation of affected families will be a priority. Around 2,500 hectares of forest land will be required, making compensatory afforestation a key challenge for Uttarakhand.
