Dehradun: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday said that Union Budget 2026–27 reflects the confidence of a strong, resilient and fast-growing Indian economy that has undergone a major transformation since 2014.

Addressing the media during a press interaction on Union Budget 2026–27 in Dehradun, Shri Puri said the Budget strikes a balance between promoting growth and maintaining fiscal discipline. He noted that India continues to remain the world’s fastest-growing major economy, with GDP growth estimated at 7.4 per cent in FY 2026.

The Minister highlighted record-low inflation levels, significant increases in capital expenditure, rapid infrastructure expansion and strengthened defence capabilities as key outcomes of sustained policy focus since 2014. He said investments have boosted highways, railways, airports, education and healthcare, while targeted initiatives for MSMEs, innovation and clean growth are further reinforcing India’s growth trajectory.

Terming Union Budget 2026–27 a nation-building Budget, Shri Puri said it lays a strong foundation for achieving the vision of a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
