Shri Ravi Bijarnia, Deputy Director of the Information Department, has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of PRSI Dehradun Chapter at the General Meeting held in the city on Sunday. Shri Anil Sati and Shri Suresh Chandra Bhatt have been appointed as Secretary and Treasurer respectively, while Dr. AN Tripathi has been re-elected as Vice-President and Shri Rakesh Dhobhal as Joint Secretary.

In his address, Shri Bijarnia emphasized the role of Information Technology and social media in bridging the gap to deliver government schemes to the common people. He pledged to organize new initiatives and programs regularly on topics concerning public interest and social concerns. "Efforts will be made to promote the culture, tourism, and cuisine of Uttarakhand through PRSI`s nationwide network," he said. Expressing gratitude to all members, Shri Bijarnia highlighted plans to connect individuals associated with public relations from government departments and autonomous organizations in the state with the Dehradun Chapter.

Outgoing President Shri Amit Pokhriyal thanked all members for their support during his tenure. He noted the successful programs organized under his leadership and congratulated the newly elected President and executive members, wishing them success.

Established in 1958, the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) is the country`s largest organization of professionals in the field of public relations, encompassing both government and non-government sectors. With a network of 25 chapters nationwide and with a membership base of four thousand members, PRSI provides an effective platform for PR professionals and organizations to engage with the masses. The Dehradun chapter, established in 1990, continues to promote Uttarakhand and its various facets nationally and abroad.
