Haridwar: The nationwide `Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah`, observed from June 17 to 26 under the theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan," concluded with a grand national awareness programme at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (DSVV), Haridwar. More than 1.31 crore citizens participated in awareness activities across the country.

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar led a 4,000-member anti-drug rally and administered the Pledge Against Drug Abuse and Ageing with Dignity Pledge. During the event, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment signed two MoUs with Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Pariwar under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) to strengthen drug demand reduction, community awareness, and senior citizen welfare.

The 10-day campaign featured street plays, youth seminars, e-pledges, painting competitions, yoga sessions, and Nasha Mukti Mitra registration drives. Outstanding states, districts, institutions, and volunteers were also felicitated for their contribution to the nationwide anti-drug movement.
