Uttarakhand to Revamp Skill Training to Boost Youth Employment
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed officials to prepare a State Skill Development Plan aligned with industry requirements to bridge the gap between training and employment.
Chairing a meeting at the Secretariat on Friday, Bardhan instructed officials to prepare District Skill Development Plans for all districts and upload them to the designated portal. The plans will assess local employment opportunities, training facilities and industry demand.
He emphasised introducing courses in emerging skill areas, coordinating with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and reputed engineering colleges, and establishing uniform training standards.
The Chief Secretary also directed regular assessments and third-party audits of training programmes to ensure quality. He stressed that skill development initiatives must equip young people with industry-relevant skills and improve their employment opportunities.
