Uttarakhand SDRF Becomes First in India to Get ISO 9001:2015 Certification
Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has become the first in India to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system, recognising its operational efficiency, discipline and disaster preparedness.
The certification was awarded on October 8 after a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) audit at the SDRF headquarters in Jolly Grant from September 23 to 25. The audit assessed training, resource management, documentation and compliance with standard operating procedures.
With over 40 teams on standby round the clock, SDRF conducts rescue operations during floods, landslides, cloudbursts and other emergencies. It also assists pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra and rescues trekkers in difficult terrain.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the force, calling the achievement a matter of pride for Uttarakhand and praising its commitment to disaster management.
