Dehradun Hosts India-Nepal Talks on Border Security and Development

Dehradun: The 14th Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting between India and Nepal on border management continued in Dehradun on Friday, focusing on strengthening border security, surveillance and infrastructure in border areas.

The two-day high-level meeting, held at a hotel on Mussoorie Road, brought together senior officials from both countries to discuss key issues related to effective border management. The discussions also focused on improving coordination between concerned agencies, sharing information and enhancing cooperation to address border-related challenges.

The Indian delegation is being led by Pausumi Basu, Joint Secretary in the Union Home Ministry, while the Nepalese delegation is headed by Anand Kafle, Joint Secretary in Nepal’s Home Ministry.

The meeting provided a platform for both sides to review existing border management challenges and work towards mutually agreed solutions. The JWG meetings are held regularly to strengthen coordination and cooperation between India and Nepal on border-related matters.

The 14th JWG meeting in Dehradun is expected to further strengthen bilateral coordination on India-Nepal border security, surveillance and infrastructure development.
