Dr. Manoj Kumar Pant Takes Charge as Director of Uttarakhand Economics & Statistics Directorate
Dehradun: Dr. Manoj Kumar Pant assumed charge as the new Director of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Uttarakhand, at IT Park, Dehradun, on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
After taking charge, Dr. Pant held an introductory meeting with departmental officers and employees and reviewed ongoing work, key priorities and the future action plan of the directorate.
Dr. Pant emphasized the greater use of modern technology and IT skills in statistical work to improve efficiency, quality and outcome-based functioning. He also stressed the need to adopt new technologies, promote innovation and strengthen the technical capabilities of departmental personnel.
He called for teamwork, better coordination and continuous capacity building to further strengthen the state’s statistical system. Dr. Pant also sought suggestions from employees and assured them that their concerns and ideas would be considered for necessary action.
He said that effective use of technology combined with collective efforts can make Uttarakhand’s statistical framework more robust and responsive to emerging requirements.
