The central government has approved ₹164.67 crore for various development projects in two major cities of Uttarakhand—Dehradun and Nainital. This budget has been sanctioned under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Expenditure.

This amount will be utilized for significant projects, including multilevel car parking, wholesale market construction, pond and park development, and more. These projects will be executed under the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) and the District-Level Development Authority, Nainital.

₹828.27 lakh for pond and park development in Ramjiwala (Miyanwala), ₹672.57 lakh for Gaura Devi Park construction in Defense Colony, ₹13441.85 lakh for multilevel car parking and office space building at Tehsil Chowk, ₹12560.70 lakh for multilevel car parking in Rishikesh, ₹12150.38 lakh for wholesale market construction near Kargi Chowk, ₹404.85 lakh for beautification of a water source on Maldevta Road (Raipur), and ₹1215.36 lakh for a community hall in Garhi Cantt.

₹1241.59 lakh for drainage and road construction at Sher Ka Danda and ₹621.10 lakh for road and drainage work within Nainital city.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his happiness over this approval and extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He stated that the central government`s continuous support for development projects in the state is strengthening Uttarakhand’s infrastructure.

This approval will accelerate the state`s development and provide better facilities to the citizens.
