Dehradun: The Municipal Corporation Board has approved an expenditure budget of ₹329.35 crore and an estimated income of ₹332 crore for 2025-26. The budget was passed after initial objections from BJP councillors, who demanded detailed information on each provision. Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal assured them that complete details would be shared before the meeting concluded.

Last year, the corporation’s budget was ₹279.64 crore. This year’s budget is nearly ₹50 crore higher, with increased revenue targets.

Key Highlights: The budget places special focus on stray dog control, with the allocation increased to ₹25 lakh from ₹15 lakh last year, while urban development will also see higher spending on sanitation, infrastructure, and civic amenities.

Residents can expect improved facilities, better cleanliness, and enhanced safety measures under the new budget.
