In a significant meeting hosted in New Delhi, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Dhami engaged in extensive discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, focusing on bolstering rail connectivity to various destinations within the state of Uttarakhand. The pivotal topics of conversation revolved around the introduction of the "Vande Bharat Express" train service between Lucknow and Dehradun, as well as the expansion of rail services in the mountainous regions. Additionally, Chief Minister Shri Dhami urged swift approval for the long-awaited Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line.

The agenda also included a proposal for the establishment of a direct train route connecting Ahmedabad to Kathgodam, Haridwar, and Dehradun. Shri Dhami further advocated for linking the Kotdwar coach to the Doon Express and the Ramnagar coach to the Janata Express. He also requested the launch of a new train service from Tanakpur to Mehndipur Balaji in Rajasthan.

Highlighting the benefits of an expanded rail network, the Chief Minister emphasized that enhanced transportation would not only benefit the people of Uttarakhand but also boost the state`s tourism-dependent economy.

Assurances of full cooperation and support from the Union Railway Minister underscored the commitment to realizing these rail connectivity goals.
