Uttarakhand ’Dry’ on Lord Ram Idol Consecration Day

In a significant decision, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared January 22 a dry day in the Uttarakhand, aligning with the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

Emphasizing the cultural significance, CM Dhami directed District Magistrates to ensure the closure of liquor shops on this day. The state will witness grand events during the cultural festival from January 14 to 22, with public participation encouraged. In a virtual meeting, CM Dhami urged District Magistrates to initiate extensive cleanliness campaigns across major temples, ghats, establishments, and cities.

He stressed upon inclusion of various groups and communities in activities such as Deepotsav, Ramcharitmanas recitation, bhajan-kirtan, Prasad distribution, and cleanliness programs.
