Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards 2026: Nominations Announced

Dehradun: The nominations for the Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards 2026 were announced on Saturday during a press conference in Dehradun. The awards ceremony will be held on August 30 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Veteran actor Vimal Bahuguna will receive the Young Uttarakhand Lifetime Achievement Award, while renowned folk singer and Jagar Samrat Padma Shri Pritam Bhartwan will be honoured with the Gopal Babu Goswami Legendary Singer Award.

The organisers said the nominations and evaluation were conducted through a jury comprising experienced professionals from the fields of cinema, music, journalism and culture.

A major highlight this year is the ₹1 lakh special prize for the Best Film. Along with the trophy, the winning film’s producer will receive ₹1 lakh as financial support from social organisation Abhivyakti Ki Karyashala, under the guidance of filmmaker Manoj Chandola.

The final winners in all categories will be announced at the awards ceremony on August 30. WIOM is the main sponsor, while BAUX, Uttarakhand Tourism and Uttarakhand Film Development Council are supporting the event as co-sponsors.

Young Uttarakhand chief spokesperson Chandrakant Negi said the awards aim to recognise the talent and contribution of Uttarakhand’s regional film and music artists while providing young talent with a platform at the national level.

Founded in 2004, Young Uttarakhand has also been involved in health camps, career guidance, educational assistance and initiatives for the promotion and preservation of Uttarakhand’s art and culture.
