Swine Flu Cases Surge in Uttarakhand; COVID-19 and Dengue Also Rise
Dehradun: Uttarakhand has reported 58 new swine flu cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total to 271. Dehradun accounted for 38 cases, while 20 were reported from other districts.
Of the total patients, 149 have recovered, 120 are undergoing treatment and two have died. Children and elderly people remain among the most affected groups. The state has recorded 45 cases among children aged 1–10 years and 86 cases among people aged 61–90 years. Men account for 143 cases, compared with 128 among women.
The health department has intensified testing amid a rise in seasonal illnesses. So far, 521 samples have been tested, with 182 positive cases from Dehradun and 89 from other districts.
COVID-19 and Dengue Cases Rise
COVID-19 cases have also increased, with 39 positive cases detected from 303 samples. Dehradun has reported 16 cases and other districts 23.
Meanwhile, 129 dengue cases have been reported after testing around 24,844 samples. Of these, 112 patients have recovered, while 17 are undergoing treatment. Dehradun has reported 63 dengue cases and other districts 66.
