Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday reviewed preparations for the Kumbh Mela–2027 at a high-level meeting in Haridwar. He said the upcoming Kumbh will be divine, grand and historic, emphasizing that the safety, convenience and smooth movement of devotees remain the government’s top priority.

The Chief Minister directed all departments to complete permanent and temporary works within the stipulated timeframe, setting October as the deadline. He instructed officials to ensure quality standards through third-party audits and maintain strong inter-departmental coordination.

Dhami stressed comprehensive arrangements for crowd management, transport, parking and safe bathing at ghats. Special facilities for women and elderly devotees, improved healthcare services including emergency response systems, and strict security measures such as cyber security and fire safety were also ordered.

He further directed that bridges and ghats undergo safety audits, electrical lines be made underground, and land management in the Kumbh area remain encroachment-free to ensure smooth organization of the mega religious event.
