Despite the conclusion of Diwali festivities, the city of Dehradun continues to grapple with persistent traffic jams. Numerous vehicles are ensnared in congestion along two vital routes, namely Ghanta Ghar to Ballupur Flyover and Saharanpur Chowk to Prince Chowk.
Motorists in the city find themselves trapped in their vehicles for several hours, starting early Saturday morning. The flow of traffic resembles a snail`s pace, exacerbated by a shortage of police personnel to alleviate congestion.
The city`s traffic management system appears to be in disarray, lacking a cohesive plan of action to alleviate gridlock at key intersections. This raises questions about the efficacy of Dehradun`s `Smart City` designation, seemingly falling short of the transformative image its planners aimed to portray.
