Uttarakhand Film Policy Praised at India International Film Tourism Conclave

Chennai: Uttarakhand’s film policy and scenic shooting locations received appreciation at the India International Film Tourism Conclave–South held in Chennai on Tuesday.

Uttarakhand Film Development Council nodal officer K.S. Chauhan highlighted the state’s filmmaker-friendly policies and shooting opportunities. The policy offers subsidies of up to ₹3 crore for films, while web series and foreign productions are also eligible.

Uttarakhand provides an online single-window system for shooting permissions within seven days, along with waived shooting fees, security support and discounts at GMVN and KMVN guest houses. More than 200 films, web series and TV serials are reportedly shot in the state every year.

During the conclave, Chauhan held one-to-one meetings with Tamil film producers and directors. Production houses including Lyca Productions, India Talkies, Stone Beach Studio, BTGI Productions, Parsa Picture, Masala Pix, Kavi Creations and Dream Warrior Pictures showed interest in filming in Uttarakhand.

The state aims to strengthen its position as a leading film shooting hub and film tourism destination in India.
