Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Automatic Number Plate Recognition System (ANPR) rolled by the State Transport Department. With this, there will be facility of online monitoring in cases related to compliance of traffic rules and vehicle tax evasion on major roads of the state.



On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that ANPR activation is a good beginning from the point of view of following traffic rules and road safety. With the installation of ANPR cameras, people will follow the traffic rules. During this, he suggested that people should be made aware about ANPR cameras.



The Chief Minister also suggested that a warning SMS should be sent to those people who are found violating the traffic rules in the initial stage captured on camera. The Chief Minister said that wherever there is a need to install ANPR cameras, those places should be selected and facilities should be made available there.



Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Cameras are cameras that read and digitalize vehicles` number plates in real time. These all included cameras can do the whole detection,recording,process and transmit without servers or triggers sending compact digital data instead of heavy videos and images.
