The Uttarakhand government has made significant progress in improving air connectivity to remote areas. Over the past two years, eight heliports have been completed at Sahastradhara, Srinagar, Gauchar, Chinyalisaur, Haldwani, Almora, Pithoragarh, and Munsiyari, while work is underway on six more at Trijuginarayan, Joshimath, Mussoorie, Ramnagar, Bageshwar, and Haridwar.

Additionally, more than 100 helipads have been constructed across the state, ensuring better access for regular travel and emergencies.

The government is also expanding Pantnagar and Jolly Grant airports, with the former being developed as a greenfield airport and the latter being upgraded to international standards.

Heliports offer parking, maintenance, and passenger facilities, including lounges and cafeterias, built to airport-level standards.

These developments aim to boost tourism and enhance emergency services in Uttarakhand`s challenging terrains.
