Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with Mayors and Chairpersons of urban local bodies during the “Shahar Se Samvad” program organized by the Urban Development Department at Mukhya Sevak Sadan. The event focused on strengthening urban governance and promoting inclusive growth in Uttarakhand.

CM Dhami launched three web portals developed to support women self-help groups and announced key urban initiatives, including:

Digitization of municipal offices,

Development of Silver Jubilee Parks and vending zones,

Request to the Centre to untie tied funds,

Skill training for locals to open hi-tech salons (10 in each municipal corporation, 5 in municipalities, 3 in Nagar Panchayats).


Calling municipalities the "soul of cities," the CM urged public representatives to view their roles as missions of service, not just positions. He emphasized transparency, accountability, and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the vital role of women in state development, calling them Uttarakhand’s greatest strength. He praised the performance of the “Triple Engine Government,” citing Uttarakhand’s top rank in NITI Aayog’s SDG Index and significant progress in employment and governance reforms.

The event saw participation from Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, urban body heads, senior officials, and over 100 public representatives across the state.
