Haridwar: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan chaired a high-level review meeting to ensure safe, smooth, and organized arrangements for the upcoming Kanwar Mela (July 11–23).

He directed all departments and executing agencies to complete preparations on time and warned of strict action in case of lapses in basic facilities like drinking water, toilets, cleanliness, and parking.

Strict measures will be taken against miscreants, intoxicated individuals, and those disrupting public order. Large DJ sound systems will also be banned during the event.

Panchak: July 13–17

Dak Kanwar: July 20–23

Jalabhishek (Shravan Shivratri): July 23


Haridwar has been divided into 16 super zones, 37 zones, and 134 sectors for effective management. Departments have been tasked with ensuring cleanliness at ghats, food safety, price regulation, and traffic control.

Officials from Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, and senior police and administrative officers participated in the meeting.
