Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is planning a modern, efficient, and eco-friendly transport network for the Dehradun–Haridwar–Rishikesh corridor under the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP)-2024. The proposal was reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Housing Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar.

The plan aims to tackle rising traffic due to urbanization, tourism, and industrial growth. Key proposals include a 73-km electric BRTS corridor, Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) in Haridwar, ropeways to religious sites, and smart traffic systems (ITS).

It also focuses on strengthening public transport, reducing private vehicle use, and improving facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

Once implemented, the plan is expected to ease congestion, improve travel during major events like Kanwar Yatra and Kumbh, and boost tourism and economic growth.
