Dehradun: A modern land port is being built at Banbasa in Champawat district on the India-Nepal border by the Land Ports Authority of India, at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore. The project aims to boost trade, traffic, and strengthen bilateral ties.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the land port and the ongoing four-lane elevated road construction. He said that after completion, about 10,000 vehicles will pass through this border daily, compared to 2,000 currently.

The four-kilometer elevated road and the land port are expected to enhance trade, tourism, and employment opportunities, serving as a milestone for overall development in the border region. This route connects Banbasa in Uttarakhand to Mahendranagar in Nepal and provides the shortest link to Delhi.
