Looms of Niti Mana Products Shine at Handloom Expo 2026 in Delhi

New Delhi: Traditional handloom products made by women artisans from Uttarakhand’s Niti Mana Valley are receiving appreciation at the Handloom Expo 2026 being held at Janpath, New Delhi. Organised by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the expo will continue until August 23, 2026, showcasing handloom products from several states across the country.

With support from NABARD Uttarakhand, Looms of Ladakh and Looms of Niti Mana, along with Human Sewa Samiti, are showcasing handcrafted products made by women members of the Looms of Niti Mana Self Cooperative Society.

Krishna, a Young Professional associated with the cooperative, said the products are handmade by women from the Niti Mana Valley and are crafted using locally sourced woollen yarn and local hemp fibres. The collection includes shawls, pankhis, sweaters, mufflers, caps, socks and other traditional woollen products.

She said the Looms of Niti Mana stall has been placed in the premium stall category and is attracting visitors, with several products being purchased and appreciated by the public.

The Handloom Expo 2026 was inaugurated by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, who also visited the Looms of Niti Mana stall and appreciated the products being made by the women artisans of the region.

Looms of Niti Mana Chairman Kundan Singh Takola, Manav Sewa Samiti (MSS) representative Mahesh Khankriyal, Uttam Rana and Amina were also present on the occasion.
