NEET UG Fake Certificate Case: First Two Arrests in Dehradun

Dehradun: The SIT probing the NEET UG 2025 fake certificate case in Uttarakhand has made its first two arrests. The accused have been identified as Rupesh Pandit, alleged mastermind, and Arvind Kumar.

According to the SIT, Pandit allegedly arranged MBBS admissions using forged Freedom Fighter dependent certificates. A deal of ₹45 lakh per candidate was reportedly fixed, with ₹20 lakh taken as advance from each family.

Police said three candidates allegedly secured MBBS admissions in different medical colleges using forged documents. Pandit reportedly ran an education consultancy in Meerut and facilitated admissions to medical and other professional courses.

The SIT is examining e-District, CSC, SDM and Patwari records, while several other suspects remain under investigation. Police said more arrests may follow.

The wider probe involves allegations of forged domicile and reservation certificates, including SC, ST, OBC and EWS documents. More than 350 such documents have reportedly been flagged for verification.
