Army Signs MoU with CIMS, UIHMT Dehradun for Fee Concessions to Soldiers’ Wards
Dehradun: The Indian Army has signed an MoU with CIMS and UIHMT Group of Colleges, Dehradun, to provide tuition fee concessions to the wards and dependants of Army personnel.
Under the agreement, Veer Naris and eligible wards of personnel who made the supreme sacrifice will get a 100% tuition fee waiver. Wards of serving and retired Army personnel will receive concessions of up to 40%, while Agniveers and their dependants will also be covered.
The MoU was signed at Army Headquarters, New Delhi, with officials from the Army and representatives of CIMS and UIHMT Group.
The agreement covers courses in medical and health sciences, nursing, paramedical sciences, pharmacy, management, computer science, law and hospitality.
The Army said the initiative aims to expand access to higher and professional education for military families and reduce their financial burden.
CIMS and UIHMT Chairman Lalit Mohan Joshi said supporting the education of soldiers’ children was both an honour and a responsibility, with special focus on families of personnel who made the supreme sacrifice.
