On the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the “Open Run for Unity” cross-country race at Pavilion Ground, Dehradun. Paying tribute to the Iron Man and Bharat Ratna, Sardar Patel, who symbolized Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, the Chief Minister honored his lifelong commitment to the unity and integrity of India, saying his life inspires all to serve the nation.

The Chief Minister noted that the “Run for Unity” is held annually on October 31 to mark Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary. This year, with Diwali coinciding with the anniversary, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced in his Mann Ki Baat program that the run would take place on October 29. The Chief Minister highlighted how Sardar Patel, through unwavering will and foresight, united over 560 princely states, fulfilling the vision of Akhand Bharat and creating a unified nation.

Reflecting on Sardar Patel’s legacy as India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, the Chief Minister acknowledged his strategic diplomacy and enduring impact on India’s history. The “Run for Unity” serves to inspire every citizen with the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, fostering a sense of national unity. This run is not just a race but a platform to reinforce India’s unity and integrity.

Union Minister of State Mr. Ajay Tamta, MLA Mr. Khajan Das, Special Principal Secretary Sports Mr. Amit Sinha, Director Sports Mr. Prashant Arya, other Sports Department officials, and numerous participants joined the event.
