Uttarakhand Plans ₹600-Cr Premium Tourism City at Patwadangar

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is moving ahead with two major tourism projects to boost investment and employment—a Premium Tourism City at Patwadangar in Nainital and a Spiritual Economic Zone (SEZ) at Bilkedar in Srinagar.

The 80-acre Patwadangar project is expected to attract around ₹600 crore in investment and will feature luxury hotels, resorts, wellness centres, convention facilities, boutique stays, adventure tourism, and other premium infrastructure, positioning it as a major hill tourism destination.

Meanwhile, the proposed Spiritual Economic Zone at Bilkedar, located on the Char Dham route, will integrate religious tourism with yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, wellness, and local businesses. The project is part of the state`s vision to develop spiritual tourism hubs while attracting private investment and creating new employment opportunities.
