PM Shri KV ITBP Dehradun conducted an insightful lecture on disaster management as part of its PM Shri activities and Green School Initiative.

The session aimed to equip students with essential preparedness skills for natural calamities common to the region, such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides. Renowned geologist Prof. Sundriyal from Doon University led the session, shedding light on disaster risks, the ecological impacts of the Kedarnath and Rishiganga disasters, and effective response strategies.

Principal Sanjay Kumar highlighted the importance of disaster education, stating, “It’s about building resilience and empowering our students to act responsibly during crises.” Prof. Sundriyal emphasized the role of youth in disaster readiness, adding, “Engaging young minds creates a generation equipped to minimize harm and respond effectively to challenges.” Students were encouraged to share their learnings with their families and communities, promoting broader preparedness.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. V.K. Naudiyal, who expressed gratitude to Prof. Sundriyal, the organizing team, and the students for their enthusiastic participation. The school announced plans to integrate disaster management education into the curriculum and organize regular awareness campaigns to reinforce safety measures.
