The fifth Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival-2024 was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University. The event was officially opened by the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.), marking the start of a four-day festival featuring over 30 technical and scientific programs.

On the occasion, the Governor stated, “Science and technology are the need of the hour, and progress and development are impossible without embracing them.” He emphasized that to advance in any field, science and technology must be integrated into daily life.

During the festival, a science and technology exhibition was organized on the university campus, showcasing innovation-driven projects by students from various educational institutions and technology-based organizations. The Governor visited the exhibition, lauding the students’ efforts and encouraging them to continue their innovative work.

The Governor stressed the importance of nurturing a scientific temperament among students from an early age. He described the festival as a milestone event that will inspire young minds to explore new dimensions in science and technology. He urged students to become ambassadors of science and technology.

Addressing the students, the Governor called them the true strength of the nation and said, “You are the foundation on which India will achieve its vision of becoming a developed nation and a global leader.” He requested the organizers to transform the festival into a platform that promotes research, development, and innovation.

The Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival serves as a dynamic platform for students and scientists from across the country. It aims to spread the message of integrating science and technology into every sphere of society.
