Manglaur Police Nabs Accused Involved In Shipping Activated SIM Cards Abroad
Manglaur Police arrested an individual accused of sending SIM cards abroad for cyber fraud. A total of 1,816 SIM cards were recovered from the accused. The accused allegedly used a biometric machine to activate the SIM cards by luring women with promises of gifts, such as cup sets.
These SIM cards were used to activate social media accounts of cyber criminals abroad, particularly on platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. The SIM cards were being sent to countries such as Cambodia in South Asia for these purposes.
The police investigation further revealed that 35 cases of cyber fraud in India are linked to the SIM cards sent by this accused.
