The Uttarakhand government has launched the "Pulse Anemia Mega Campaign" to prevent anemia among pregnant women and improve maternal health. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat inaugurated the campaign today in Raipur, Dehradun.

He stated, "This campaign is crucial for reducing maternal mortality and raising awareness about nutrition among pregnant women." During the event, nutrition kits were also distributed to pregnant women.

The campaign is based on the T-4 strategy, which includes Test (anemia screening for pregnant women), Talk (awareness about nutrition and iron-rich diets), Treat (iron therapy and necessary medical treatment), and Track (regular health monitoring and follow-ups).

From February 3 to 10, 2025, 1,874 screening centers and 165 treatment centers will be operational across Uttarakhand, providing anemia screening, treatment, and nutritional counseling to pregnant women.

The launch event was attended by Vice President of the National Rural Health and Monitoring Council, Suresh Bhatt, NHM Mission Director Swati S. Bhadauria, and WHO Country Head Dr. Bhupendra Kaur Aulakh, along with several senior officials.

The Health Minister urged health workers, ANMs, and the community to actively participate in making the campaign successful. He said, "This initiative will be a milestone in making Uttarakhand a healthier and more prosperous state."
