Uttarakhand Cabinet Approves Key Reforms to Boost Growth
Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, took several key decisions aimed at accelerating the state’s development and empowering local enterprises.
Relief for MSMEs: Tender Limit Raised
The tender limit for local firms has been increased from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore. MSMEs and self-help groups will now be given priority in government contracts. Additionally, Electronic Bank Guarantees (EBG) will now be accepted.
Mega Industrial Policy 2025
A new industrial policy has been approved to attract major investments in the state. Mega and ultra-mega investors will receive a 10–20% capital subsidy. Special incentives will also be provided for industries in hill areas.
Yoga Policy 2025: Himalayan Yoga Hubs
The government approved the Yoga Policy 2025, which aims to establish yoga centers in the hills. A 50% subsidy (up to ₹20 lakh) will be given for centers in mountainous regions, and a 25% subsidy (up to ₹10 lakh) in plains. Locations like Jageshwar and Tehri will be developed as yoga tourism hubs.
Methyl Alcohol Declared Poison
To curb incidents of toxic liquor, methyl alcohol has officially been declared a poisonous substance under state law.
Pay Discrepancy Resolved for Accountants
Assistant accountants appointed before 2019 will now retain their old pay scale upon promotion, allowing them to benefit from level 8 salary grade.
New Recruitment Rules & Dam Safety Report
A new service rule framework has been approved for clerical staff in the Registration Department. Additionally, a safety report of 21 dams in the state will be tabled in the Assembly.
Support for Service Sector & Tea Development
A new policy will promote investment in the service sector, focusing on backward regions only. Also, 11 new positions have been created in the Tea Development Board to strengthen tea cultivation in the state.
These cabinet decisions are seen as a push toward industrial growth, rural empowerment, and cultural promotion, signaling a firm step toward a self-reliant Uttarakhand.
