Dehradun: The condition of the city’s key entry route near Rispana Bridge is raising serious concerns about urban management in Dehradun. Instead of offering a clean and welcoming first impression, the area is marked by disorder and lack of basic facilities.

Ground reporting reveals that public hoardings meant for civic messaging are dominated by political posters. Footpaths on one side are damaged and unsafe, with a recent incident leaving a student injured. Poor street lighting further adds to safety concerns, especially for women.

Basic amenities like bus shelters, shade, and drinking water facilities have also been removed, forcing commuters to wait in harsh weather conditions. Meanwhile, the road has remained broken for nearly two months, increasing inconvenience and accident risks.

Locals say that simple measures—repairing footpaths, restoring lighting, reinstalling public facilities, and regulating hoardings—could significantly improve the situation. The issue ultimately points to a lack of administrative accountability at a crucial city gateway.
