UKSSSC Rhetorical Riddle On Tulip Garden Stumps Examinees

In a bizarre turn of events, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has come under scrutiny for a question included in the Group G qualifying examination related to the existence of a tulip garden in the state. The question, however, appears to have no basis in reality, as the proposed tulip garden in Pithoragarh district, for which funds were allocated, never came to fruition.

The Uttarakhand government had, in a peculiar move, approved a proposal to establish a Tulip garden in Madh Khadayat, spanning 30 hectares, at an estimated cost of Rs 18.36 crore. Despite the allocation of funds, with Rs 1.77 crores approved and Rs 76 lakhs released as the first installment, the forest department took an unexpected step. They chose to shy away from implementing the project and even decided to return the allocated money, leaving the proposed tulip garden in limbo.

What raises eyebrows is the inclusion of a question about the existence of a tulip garden in the competitive examination, despite the project being non-existent on the ground. This discrepancy has left many participants perplexed, impacting their performance and, in some cases, jeopardizing their chances of making it to the merits.

The proposed Tulip garden project in Madh Khadayat, initiated about three years ago with a formal inauguration, faced a setback following the transfer of a senior official tasked with its development. Since then, the project has seen no progress and remains abandoned midway.

This controversy highlights the need for better coordination between government departments, transparency in project implementation, and a thorough review of examination content to ensure its relevance to the ground reality. The affected participants are now calling for a fair resolution to rectify the situation and safeguard the integrity of competitive examinations in the state.
