Gopeshwar: A quarterly review meeting of the NABARD project ‘Looms of Niti Mana’ Cooperative Society was held under the chairmanship of DDM, NABARD Chamoli, Mr. Shreyansh Joshi. The meeting was conducted at the District Cooperative Bank, Chamoli as part of the Project Monitoring and Review Committee.

Representatives from the implementing agency Manav Seva Samiti and technical partner Looms of Ladakh participated in the meeting. General Manager of District Cooperative Bank Chamoli, Mr. Surya Prakash Singh, officials from the Regional Office Dehradun, District Industries Officer Ms. Anjali Raman, and other concerned officials were also present.

Founder of Looms of Ladakh, Mrs. Abhilasha Bahuguna, presented a detailed update on the project’s progress through a presentation. She highlighted key aspects such as new product sampling, maintenance of collective accounts, market linkages, and management training for local rural graduates.

Project promoters Mrs. Abhilasha Bahuguna and Mr. Mahesh Khankriyal also shared the progress report with the committee. Local rural graduates—Meena, Anita, Hansa, and Krishna—discussed their stock, raw materials, and reimbursement registers with the committee.

Officials present in the meeting encouraged the local participants and provided guidance on improving record-keeping formats and operational processes. The District Industries Officer also offered valuable suggestions to further strengthen the handloom sector.

The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on targets and action plans for the upcoming quarter. Representatives from NABARD, District Cooperative Bank, District Industries Office Chamoli, and LDM SBI shared their inputs and recommendations.
