Uttarakhand to Launch AI, Machine Learning and Robotics BTech Courses

Dehradun: Uttarakhand has approved two new BTech programmes in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) and Robotics at Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT), Dwarahat.

Technical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat approved the programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Both courses will be offered on a self-financed basis, with admissions already underway.

Dr. Rawat said the programmes will help meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in emerging technologies and provide Uttarakhand’s youth with access to advanced, industry-relevant education.

BTKIT has secured the required approvals from Uttarakhand Technical University and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The government also plans to introduce courses in AI, Data Science, Cyber Security, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, Semiconductors and Full-Stack Development at other technical institutions across the state.
