Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that five villages in each development block of Uttarakhand will be developed as model villages, with the goal of including 10 Uttarakhand villages among the top 100 model villages in the country.

In a review meeting of the Panchayati Raj Department at the Secretariat, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed senior officials and District Magistrates to engage with local Gram Panchayats through Gram Chaupal meetings and actively participate in planning these developments.

Dhami emphasized that Panchayat buildings should be constructed in traditional mountain-style architecture to reflect Uttarakhand`s heritage, with the budget for these buildings increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. He also called for the construction of drainage systems alongside village roads, and the inclusion of open gyms and parks in Gram Panchayats.

The Chief Minister proposed naming village gates, schools, and Panchayat buildings after military martyrs, with their names inscribed on plaques. He instructed officials to use funds from the 15th Finance Commission efficiently, focusing on cleanliness, garbage disposal, and ensuring high-speed internet connectivity in all Gram Panchayats.
