Uttarakhand Govt Allocates ₹20 Crore to Rebuild Disaster-Hit Schools

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has sanctioned ₹20 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund for the repair and reconstruction of schools damaged by natural calamities.

District-wise, Tehri, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Almora, Nainital, and Pithoragarh will each receive ₹2 crore, while Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Rudraprayag, Champawat, and Bageshwar will get ₹1 crore each.

The funds will be used for rebuilding classrooms, boundary walls, toilets, playgrounds, and other infrastructure. All Chief Education Officers have been instructed to ensure quality construction and complete works by March 2026, along with submission of utilization certificates.

School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said, “₹20 crore has been released for the reconstruction of disaster-hit schools. District CEOs must begin work promptly to ensure schools are rebuilt on time.”
