Pantnagar Hosts 118th Kisan Mela Highlighting Modern Farming

Pantnagar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the 118th All India Kisan Mela and Agri-Industry Exhibition at Pantnagar University, unveiling new legume varieties and releasing the book “Pantnagar Pravah.”

The fair features over 400 stalls, including 200 from startups and agri-industries. The CM said it is a platform for knowledge exchange and innovation between farmers, scientists, and entrepreneurs. He announced interest-free loans up to ₹3 lakh, 80% equipment subsidies, free irrigation, ₹200 crore for polyhouses, and incentives like wheat bonus, sugarcane rate hike, and Kisan Credit Card limit of ₹5 lakh.

Farmers were encouraged to adopt modern techniques and benefit from horticulture schemes for higher productivity and income.
