Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two members of an interstate cyber fraud gang that used fake job and easy loan offers to open bank accounts for cyber crimes.

The accused allegedly lured victims through Facebook and Instagram advertisements, gained control of their bank accounts, and used them for OLX fraud and other online financial scams.

Acting on technical surveillance and cyber complaint analysis, STF arrested Rahul Mohammad of Rajasthan and Shivansh Upadhyay, originally from Gorakhpur and currently living in Lucknow, at the Asharodi check post.

Officials recovered four mobile phones, five IndusInd Bank account kits, an Aadhaar card, and ₹15,000 in cash. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, while further investigation is underway.
