Gopeshwar: “NABARD Looms of Niti Mana’” project launched in Gopeshwar by NABARD General Manager Mr Shashi Kumar. The project, implemented by Manav Seva Samiti, aims to promote local products and make women in border areas self-reliant through improved weaving and textile production techniques.

The programme was attended by Mr Kundan Singh Takola, President of the Loom of Niti Mana Cooperative Society; Mrs Abhilasha Bahuguna, Founder of Looms of Ladakh and promoter of Looms of Niti Mana; MSS(Manav seva samiti) Manager Mr Mahesh Khankriyal; and beneficiaries. Discussions were held on the project’s objectives, future strategy and NABARD’s expectations.

Mr Shashi Kumar urged departments and banks to work together to increase credit flow in rural and hilly regions and reaffirmed NABARD’s commitment to providing continued technical and financial support.

The event was conducted by Mr Shreyansh Joshi, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD.

On the same day, NABARD’s Uttarakhand Regional Office, Dehradun, organised a district-level workshop in Gopeshwar for Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts to enhance Ground Level Credit (GLC). The workshop, chaired by Mr Shashi Kumar, discussed refinance schemes and strategies to expand credit in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, solar energy and rural entrepreneurship.

Officials from line departments and banking institutions participated in the workshop. Members of Looms of Niti Mana, including Mr Kishor Badwal, Mr Narendra Singh Rawat, Mr Kunwar Singh and Mrs Nandi Rana, were also present.
