Dehradun: The International BRICS Academic Mid-Term Conference was organized at Doon University in Dehradun, bringing together delegates and experts from 11 countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Iran. The conference focused on the theme of India`s BRICS Presidency 2026 — "Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability."

The event was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and other distinguished guests from academia and the Ministry of External Affairs. Discussions were held on green industrial transformation, biodiversity conservation, and climate finance for a sustainable future.

Experts from BRICS nations shared their views on global challenges and opportunities for cooperation, while academicians and research scholars from across Uttarakhand also participated in the sessions.

The conference concluded with recommendations to strengthen collaboration among BRICS countries in the fields of sustainable development, climate action, and green growth.
