Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is set to strengthen its cyber security framework to tackle the rising number of cyber crimes across the state. As part of the initiative, a Grievance Cell, Amount Recovery Cell and Investigation Cell will be established under the State Cyber Command and Control Centre.

The move aims to ensure faster complaint resolution, quicker recovery of money lost in cyber frauds, and more effective investigations into crimes such as online scams, phishing, fake investment schemes and digital arrest frauds.

The government also plans to increase the number of Cyber Commandos, which currently stands at five, to improve cyber crime prevention and investigations at the local level. Authorities will also focus on the prompt registration of e-FIRs to ensure quicker justice for victims.

Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli said the new measures are being implemented in line with the Centre`s guidelines to strengthen cyber crime prevention in the state.
