The 9th SelaQui All India Interschool Soccer Tournament (U-19) Boys, 2024 kicked off with great excitement on Saturday at SelaQui International School. The week-long tournament, known for attracting some of the top school teams from across India, began with a series of thrilling matches that set a competitive tone for the days to come.

In the opening clashes, Indian Public School Dehradun faced off against Bishop Cotton School Shimla, while Army Public School Dagshai took on Winberg-Allen School Mussoorie. Other notable matches included Kasiga School Dehradun versus The Sagar School Alwar, and Punjab Public School Nabha against the host team, SelaQui International School.

This year’s tournament features a strong lineup of 12 teams, including prestigious institutions such as St. Paul`s School Darjeeling, RIMC Dehradun, The Doon School Dehradun, and Welham Boys School Dehradun. Each team is eager to prove their mettle and compete for the coveted championship title.

The tournament was officially opened in a ceremony attended by Mr. Rashid Sharfuddin, Headmaster of SelaQui International School, along with distinguished guests, coaches, and players. In his address, Mr. Sharfuddin highlighted the significance of sportsmanship and the role such events play in developing the character and discipline of young athletes.

The six-day event promises a showcase of talent, teamwork, and intense competition as the teams vie for supremacy in this prestigious inter-school soccer tournament.
