Medical stores in Uttarakhand to compulsorily ensure attendance of pharmacists through a biometric system. The State Food & Drugs Control Department acted upon after several complaints received about absence of certified pharmacists at medical stores. As per FDA guidelines no store in the state can function without presence of pharmacists. Despite this order several stores in the state are running on rent-a-certificate basis. The scheme will first get implemented in Dehardun and Udham Singh Nagar and later at other districts in the state.
