The Uttarakhand government has announced the launch of mobile testing vans in five plain districts under the National Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Program. These vans will visit households in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, and Dehradun to conduct sputum tests. Patients testing positive will be immediately linked to treatment.

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the vans will be equipped with CB-NAAT machines and facilities for sputum testing. The campaign will be monitored by the Chief Medical Officers of the respective districts. To date, 10,705 Ni-kshay Mitras (supporters) have assisted 23,819 TB patients across the state.

As part of the Prime Minister’s TB-Free India Campaign, 3,200 villages across 1,424 gram panchayats have been declared TB-free in Uttarakhand. This initiative marks a significant step toward eliminating TB and providing enhanced healthcare services in the state.
