In a major step towards modernizing higher education, state universities and colleges are set to implement a curriculum rooted in Indian knowledge traditions, as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Committees will be established to develop and finalize the curriculum framework.

To ensure a transparent and timely examination process, a pilot project will soon commence, involving the digital evaluation of answer sheets in one faculty. Depending on its success, this initiative will be expanded across all universities in the state.

Government colleges completing five years and private institutions that meet the necessary standards will also be granted permanent affiliation, a move aimed at improving the quality of education and institutional accountability.

Vice-chancellors of state universities will undertake study visits to reputed Indian universities to exchange ideas and enhance academic standards. Additionally, annual inter-university cultural and sports competitions will be organized to foster talent and camaraderie among students.

To boost the National Cadet Corps (NCC) program, the government will allocate 7,500 newly approved seats and organize workshops on the theme “Developed India-2047.”

These initiatives are expected to significantly strengthen the state’s higher education system and align it with the vision of NEP-2020.
