Uttarakhand Prepares for National Games with 1,200 Special Volunteers

Uttarakhand is all set to host the 38th National Games, starting on January 28. For the event, 1,200 special sports volunteers will be deployed, provided by the National Federation Sports of India. The state is also in the process of selecting 2,300 general volunteers.

The special sports volunteers will handle responsibilities directly related to the games and will receive a daily honorarium of ₹1,000. In contrast, general volunteers, assigned to tasks like parking and guest management, will be paid ₹500 per day.

Over 30,000 people have registered to become general volunteers. The selected candidates will be appointed after undergoing online training and examinations. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the event will be a significant step forward for the development of sports in Uttarakhand.
